The Center for Curriculum, Instruction and Technology (CCIT) provides a wide scope of faculty support, scholarship and instructional activities designed to assist faculty with fulfilling the academic standards of the College. The Curriculum Specialist reports to the Senior Director, Center for Curriculum, Instruction and Technology. The Curriculum Specialist supports the CCIT in the development and continuous improvement of curriculum, promotes pedagogical approaches that are student centered, development of authentic assessments, and creation of engaging learning experiences.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with faculty for curriculum development and curriculum revision initiatives.

  • Coaches faculty in transforming current practices to align with evidence-based progressive teaching methodologies.

  • Recommends innovation for enhancing teaching and learning through the identification, evaluation, adoption, advancement and integration of effective educational technologies.

Other duties as indicated by the Senior Director, Center for Curriculum, Instruction and Technology


  • State certified teaching license or Master’s Degree in Education preferred.

  • 5+ years of classroom teaching experience, with a mix of K-12 and higher education preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience coaching faculty in K-12 or higher education.

  • Subject knowledge in at least one to the following:

    • Social Sciences

    • Humanities

    • Language Arts

    • Marketing or Accounting

    • Legal Studies or Justice Studies

    • Graphic Design

    • Interior Design

    • Health Care

  • Experience working with:

    • Learning management systems (e.g. Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Google Classroom, etc.)

    • Office suite software

    • Advanced educational technologies and web tools

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of current trends, methodologies, best practices, and learning theories and curriculum design models in education, including but not limited to:

    • Backward Design (Wiggins & McTighe)

    • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

    • Culturally Responsive Teaching

    • Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

    • Inquiry-based Learning

  • Ability to communicate and work successfully with all stakeholders including faculty, departments and administrators of a variety of backgrounds and mindsets.

  • Knowledge of trends and practices in the scholarship of teaching and learning across disciplines.

  • Ability to collaborate, plan, and prioritize.

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

This will be a new, non-teaching adjunct position appointed by semester.
