The AANA represents nearly 54,000 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists who safely and cost-effectively provide more than 49 million anesthetic procedures each year. We’re looking to add a talented Staff Accountant to our dynamic team of professionals who are deeply dedicated to advancing the nurse anesthesia profession. The Staff Accountant (“SA”) is responsible for completing activities for the month-end process, including journal entries, reconciliations, processing accruals and fixed assets subledger. The SA also manages the corporate credit card program and ensures that corporate credit card policies are followed.


The Staff Accountant reports directly to our Controller.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Assists in monthly close process by reviewing and recording accruals, maintaining and recording fixed assets, reconciling bank accounts, posting adjusting journal entries

  • Performs assigned account reconciliations

  • Manages corporate credit card program: distributes monthly statements, prepares journal entries, ensures backup documents and proper authorizations are submitted, ensures policy compliance

  • Assists with audit requests and prepares ad hoc reports for the Controller


REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university

  • 2-4 years total experience in accounting-related area

  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of the AANA accounting team

  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Understanding of Accounts Payable functions and reconciliation

  • Strong comfort level with following up with multiple departments

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in work

  • Good prioritization, time/deadline management and adaptability skills

  • Experience with protecting confidential information

  • Experience with Great Plains or other accounting software

  • Advanced Excel skills (vlookup, sumifs, Pivot Tables)

  • Professional written and oral communication skills

  • Solid analytical skills
