Summary of the Position:


In this new role, the Senior Manager, Employee Experience & Human Resources serves as the primary focal point for the development of an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes learning, employee development, and staff support and supportive benefits. The Senior Manager will oversee recruitment, employee relations, systems, relevant policy development, compensation and benefits, and training and development. The Senior Manager will serve as the project manager for Women Deliver’s transformation work which implements our commitment to be an anti-racist, diverse, equitable and inclusive organization. This role will report to the CEO and partner with Finance, Legal, and the general Operations Team.


Accountabilities:



  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the Employee Experience & Human Resources work stream; managing general operations and supporting overall day-to-day office administration for Women Deliver

  • Transformation: act as project manager and lead for the Women Deliver’s transformation work to be an anti-racist, diverse and inclusive organization; ensuring the values of the transformation is embedded in the organization; supporting staff in the incorporation of transformation in their programs and in their own professional development; supporting the changing culture of Women Deliver and serving as a strong employee advocate

  • Recruiting: overseeing recruitment of all positions at Women Deliver (from interns to senior roles); working closely with hiring managers on the full recruitment cycle, including development of job descriptions, leading in outreach, screenings, organizing follow-on interviews and panel interviews, references, and offers; engaging in hiring best practices and expressing a deep understanding of anti-racist principles, diversity and inclusivity practices in hiring, recruitment and retention to build a more representative workforce

  • On-Boarding/Off-Boarding: managing the onboarding process for all new hires, including working with TNS (our IT provider) to set up emails and grant access to appropriate databases and programs; overseeing the orientation program for new hires, working closely with hiring managers to coordinate key trainings, documentation, technology, and space; managing the offboarding process for all staff exiting the organization including conducting exit interviews

  • HR Systems: serving as focal for ADP, and assisting in the day-to-day administration – including troubleshooting provider and process issues, partnering with finance on payroll, and ensure all record keeping is up to date and compliant; creating new systems that help to track record keeping; managing key relationships with our various providers, including but not limited to, TNS, Box, and ADP; comfortable in learning new systems and acting as Administrator in organizational systems

  • Compliance & Policy Development: working closely with the CEO and Legal to ensure the organization is ahead of state and federal policy and compliance changes and best practices; ensuring all employee handbooks and policies are up to date; and recommending new policies and changes as the field and organization evolves; developing processes and metrics that support assessing the impact of HR systems, tools, and programs

  • Performance Management: leading the implementation of the performance management system (which includes the performance management strategy and employee development programs); working closely with Finance to support personnel projections and support the merit increase process

  • Training & Development: leading in the establishing of an in-house employee training system that addresses the organizations needs including management development, new hire orientation, skill-based training, and compliance oriented training; assists with selecting and contracting external consultants and experts as needed

  • Benefits & Compensation: managing day-to-day benefits administration, including but not limited to, overseeing annual open enrollment, serving on the 403(b) Plan Committee, managing 403(b) compliance items (5500, compliance testing, etc.), and COBRA

  • Employee Experience & Relations: acts as a coach for all employees, assisting in establishing a positive relationship between managers and direct reports; supporting a high level of employee morale and motivation, conducting periodic surveys to measure employee experience and engagement; ensuring any complaints or concerns are facilitated through the proper approaches


Qualifications, Skills, Education, and Knowledge:



  • BA/BS required; Master’s degree preferred

  • 8-10 years of Human Resources experience; with preferred experience working within the nonprofit or international development sector

  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion experience and knowledge required

  • Experience in talent management, recruiting, benefits administration, systems management and HR compliance required

  • Experience in international recruiting, operations and office management preferred

  • Experience working or living globally preferred

  • Experience with scaling up an organization preferred

  • Strong project and operations management skills

  • Ability to coach, mentor, and create an environment that fosters support, learning, diversity and equity

  • Ability to manage complex situations while maintaining confidentiality, with a focus on productive outcomes

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistently delivering excellent quality work

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and resourcefulness in solving problems

  • Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, if needed

  • Language skills a plus: French or Spanish

  • Must be eligible work in the United States without employer sponsorship
